The right time to climb on mountain

If you don’t believe it, try watching movies about all climbing mountains like 5 cm or Himalayas.

Unfortunately, the mountain is not a good place to visit throughout the year. So before deciding to go to the mountain, you must first understand the best and worst times to go there.

The Worst Time for Traveling to the Mountain

The January to March period is a highly recommended time for vacationing in the mountains. The intensity of rain in this period is very high. In fact, many mountain managers in Indonesia are closing the hiking trail.

In this period, rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning is very common. Climbers who force themselves to climb mountains during this period are haunted by various mountain diseases such as hypothermia due to wet clothes after being exposed to rain. The hiking trail becomes slippery and increases the risk of accidents.

November to December is actually a time not recommended for mountain climbing. Although the intensity of the rain has not been as high as the period from January to March, climbing in this period has a high potential for accidents. Thick storms and fog often occur at certain times during this year’s transition period.

The other worst time to vacation in the mountains is when volcanic activity on the mountain is increasing. Increased volcanic activity has no definite period. It can occur in the rainy season or even the summer season.

The Best Time for Traveling to the Mountain

The best time to go to the mountain is during the summer from the end of April to the beginning of October. Usually, the climbers’ most preferred time is in the period July to September. This period is the height of summer. Apart from the possibility of rain, the natural scenery in this period is truly extraordinary.

In this period there are also many moments that will be more exciting if celebrated on the mountain, one of which is the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence day on August 17. Many climbers intentionally come to perform flag-raising ceremonies on the mountaintop.

The disadvantage felt when climbing in this period is that there are too many people who climb the mountain. The number of these people will make it difficult for you to get the best camp spot. Even in some mountains queues often occur to set foot on the summit.

Alternatively, try climbing in the period from May to June or in October. In May to June, the availability of water on the mountain is quite large and the hiking trails and campsites are cleaner because there are not many climbers who have come there whereas, in October, the availability of clean water becomes less and the mountains sometimes begin to scatter garbage.
After knowing the right time to travel to the mountain, now just make a climbing plan with your friends.
